Google changes all the time; continuously in truth and that is not going to change. We often forget that Google is a company providing services like any other company and that like other companies they are free to do pretty much anything they wish with their own services and products. Yet because their products and services effect so many of us we feel attached to them more than others and thus we get a bit twitchy when things change. Sadly, we have to get used to it. Fortunately for you, we are here to help you through the ever changing world of Google so let’s talk about the latest changes – The parting of Local and Google+.

You don’t have a blog on your website. Or maybe you do, but your practice just isn’t utilizing it- no big deal, right? Wrong.

Let me back-track. We talk about Google a lot here at Glacial Multimedia. You’ve probably heard us say, “Google likes this”, or “Google doesn’t like that”. Maybe you’ve even heard one of my co-worker’s favorites: “it’s Google’s sandbox, and we’re all just playing in it.” We spend a lot of time discussing and monitoring how Google works because it far outranks any other search tool, and chances are, your patients and prospects are searching for their medical needs using this behemoth of a search engine.

We’ve learned a lot, and there’s one thing we know for sure: Google loves blogs.

There has been a lot of buzz surrounding the phrase “content marketing” over the past year, but despite its regular mention, I have struggled to wrap my head around what exactly this is. I was curious, and found myself questioning how Glacial Multimedia could use content marketing to assist our clients. How can we help our practices to get involved with content marketing? How can we use content marketing for SEO purposes? Is there a way to leverage content marketing in social media? What are the basics of content marketing? All of this and more came to mind when I decided it was time to sign up for Content Marketing World, an event touting some of the world’s top brand marketers, educational speakers, courses, and opportunities to communicate with some of the industry’s best and brightest.

Glacial Multimedia Inc., recently embarked on a study with CareCredit and 60 ophthalmology practices to try and understand what putting the best foot forward could do to traffic. Our findings were astonishing. Oftentimes financing was not even there, hard to find or involving a sentence with very little information. In most cases it was easy to see how this could be improved. The question then became…what type of modality would we use and would this make a difference in traffic? For the purpose of this task we assumed that if we get more qualified traffic that we would inevitably attract more patients. What did we learn? Read the full blog to find out!

You’re probably wondering what a 24 year old millennial can tell you about how internet marketing and advanced strategy can help you capture your audience online. Don’t worry- I understand your doubts. However, I have been internet marketing since I was 14 without even knowing it. I built my first website for my lawn mowing business, allowing my neighbors to schedule appointments and access my services with ease. As I aged, I realized what I was doing and found I had a passion (and a term) for what I was doing- internet marketing. By 17 I was running internet and social marketing for a very successful restaurant, for which I have established a successful marketing campaign. Now I represent 55 practices throughout the US, and am personally in charge of establishing all new practices for the company. I work with over 100 physicians from ophthalmologists, dentists, plastic surgeons, spinal surgeons, and many more.
