A new study confirms that a Facebook fan is worth approximately $174

A new study by Syncapse, a social media marketing firm, has confirmed that a Facebook fan is worth approximately $174 to a brand, which is up 28% since 2010. The survey, based on data collected from more than 2,000 U.S. panelists in late January and early February, compared Facebook fans with non-fans and their corresponding product spending, brand loyalty, propensity to recommend, media value, cost of acquisition and brand affinity. Fans are obviously much more active in social media wherein the average Facebook is also following 10 brand pages at a given time. Three quarters of fans are likely to share good brand experiences and share promotions with their Facebook friends.

Glacial Multimedia can help gather more fans on your Facebook business page through a variety of different practices. One of those is simply by placing a Facebook ad for your practice. Facebook ads are inexpensive and have been found to elicit positive results by way or gaining more followers. Facebook ads are also a great way to reach beyond the people who are already a fan of your page by placing them where your ideal demographic hangs out. By facilitating multiple views, your Facebook ad has a better chance of getting noticed and creating a positive effect – more fans on your page.

Another great way that Glacial can help build your fan base on Facebook is by helping your practice run a contest directly on your Facebook page. With a little creativity and a lot of promotion a Facebook contest will not only help you gain more fans, but it can also provide your practice with valuable insight into your fan base and give you something to post about on a regular basis. Since Facebook explicitly requires that businesses run contests on a third-party application, Glacial Multimedia has created a fully integrated software platform designed to make running these kinds of campaigns extremely easy and effective.

Another vital part of maintaining and acquiring new fans on Facebook is through regular social media maintenance. Glacial Multimedia’s Social Media Maintenance program engages your fans by posting regular, interesting content that elicits interaction from follows. Glacial also monitors your practice’s Facebook page on a daily basis so that we are able to respond to potential leads and provide reputation management in a prompt, friendly, and informative manner. This communication between your practice’s Facebook page and its fans is very important as it helps to ensure that non-fans will see this interaction between the page and the fan. By communicating with fans of the page, Glacial is able to ensure that non-fans see this interaction and understand that there is someone maintaining the page who is knowledgeable and courteous about the affairs being discussed and also that the page itself is worth visiting as there is, in fact, creative, interesting content to review.
